Personality: Kumo is generally misunderstood due to her intimidating blood-red eyes and spider legs. However, she is actually rather motherly and loves youths (especially young children). While acting mature she also has childish moments when she comes to being overworked and at her limit. Despite being lazy, she can be a surprisingly hard worker when she puts her mind to it. _{(Which is most of the time since Kenzei always ditches work//hit)}

History: In Kumo's past life, she was brought up in the red light district as an apprentice courtesan. Born from an unwanted pregnancy, she never knew what it was like to have a mother. This influenced her love for children as she never wanted any child to grow up without a mother, thus, taking care of any orphans that happened to come by. One night, she came across a drunk samurai who had recently been disowned into a ronin. A child she had been caring for had accidentally gotten caught into a mess with the ronin, who was threatening the youth with his sword. In a hurry, Kumo protected the child and instead, took multiple slashes on the back- causing her to die from blood loss.

Kumo's unsettled soul was eventually reborn as a jorogumo, where she quietly resided in the Spirited Village, opening her own business. She constantly wondered if she was able to save the child and one day, realized that it was most unlikely. This was the start of her depression where she drank sake and smoked her kiseru all day. After some time, she managed to semi-get over it and spent her days fixing herself up both mentally and physically. Occasionally she would play with the children in or near the village and at times, take care of the lost wandering souls of the Otokoyo game. (Often mistaken for trying to deceive and eat them, she went through many rejections.) On one Children's day, Kumo went out through the mountains to nearby villages, seeking little children to play with and give mochi (rice cakes) to. Many of the children she came across were of course, too scared of her (since she forgot to hide her legs) and usually ran away at first sight, despite her (sometimes desperate) approaches. Eventually giving up, she made her way back to the village and encountered a dying young oni (ogre/demon with horns) on the mountain path. She immediately took him in and raised him as if he were her son. Naming him 'Kenzei' and supplying his needs. Currently, Kenzei does not know the truth of this day (that she was out searching for little kids and not really a genuine savior).

Trivia:
-Shop name: Sanshi---Kiji to ito [Silk thread---Fabric and threads] (蚕糸---生地と糸), Sanshi is derived from her last name
-Majority of her merchandise is silk, she spins it all herself and can make kimonos on special occasions but rarely.
-Kumo (蜘蛛) means 'Spider'
-Jorogumo means 'Entangling bride' _{And other meanings which I don't really prefer...}
-Out of (old) habit, she carries around a kiseru(japanese pipe) in her Kimono sash since she used to smoke. Now, she rarely smokes and only does so when extremely stressed out or depressed. (After taking in Kenzei, she stopped smoking and drinking as much)
-She has a large scar on her back from the injuries she took in her past life that somewhat resemble a spider. Her spider legs just happen to branch out of each point of the scar.
-She is talented at playing the pípa, the Chinese equivalent instrument to the biwa (Japanese lute)
-Her favorite flowers are red spider lilies
-Kumo refuses to eat humans and instead, has taken a liking to red meats
